WINERY

Palazzo is a young wine farm founded in 1997 by two
associates, lovers of nature and agriculture. After having worked in the
catering field, they decided to return to farming traditions and create
a wine farm in their home lands.
They started with 5 rented hectares of vineyards, and in three years
have extended them to 24 hectares; 8 owned and 16 rented.
Their first wines were Lambrusco and Malvasia Colli di Parma; the
purchase of new vines has now allowed them to start Sauvignon, Barbera
and Bonarda production.
The cellar's most important wine is the Sia Lodato, born with the
1999 harvest. It is a barbera kept in barriques for two years.
Finally, it passes three months bottled before being sold.
The winery also produces Malpassito: the first trial was made in
2001 using grapes picked at the beginning of October and left to wither
until the beginning of November. After eight months in barriques,
the wine waits another six months before being sold.
